Rector Search Process
It has been quite a few years since Christ Church has needed to search for a new Rector and some may be unaware of how the process has changed. The most important task this parish has is to select the “right” person to lead and guide our parish. Part of that process is determining who we are as a parish, what we believe and what type of rector we desire to have at Christ Church. This will set the direction for our church and ultimately, who we call to become our new rector.
There are 3 basic stages in the process and they can take up to 2 years to complete before we can welcome our new rector.
Stage 1 – Parish Profile – A document created by the Profile Committee based upon a church wide survey and focus groups/town hall meetings. This document establishes who we are as a church and ultimately determines the type of rector for which we will search.
Stage 2 – Search Committee – A committee that will review, interview and meet potential candidates based upon the Parish Profile document.
Stage 3 – Call and Approval – Once approved by the Vestry and Diocese, a call will be given to the potential candidate. If the candidate accepts, the parish process is complete.
Currently, we are in Stage 2 of the process. The Search Committee has been announced, meets regularly, and is interviewing candidates.
