Job Description
By the grace of God, Christ Church Port Republic has served the spiritual needs of its parishioners for over 350 years, and it is now inviting applications from those who may feel called to serve as its rector going forward. Located in a bucolic, exurban location within minutes of Chesapeake Bay, Christ Church is within easy driving distance of Annapolis, Baltimore, and Washington D.C. Its 47-acre campus includes a historic church building, restored one-room schoolhouse, parish hall, and rectory, The property also includes the field on which Christ Church hosts the oldest annual jousting tournament in Maryland, which is attended by thousands and is a major fund raiser for the parish.

More importantly, Christ Church is a warm and welcoming parish engaged in discipleship, mission, and stewardship. Our parish is blessed with an engaged congregation of 158 souls and a healthy balance sheet, both of which allow us to support a variety of in-house and outreach ministries. Scripture-based and rooted in the Anglican tradition, our worship services are grounded in the Book of Common Prayer and the Eucharist. Sunday worship services are the spoken Rite I at 8:30 a.m. and the choral Rite II at 10:00 a.m.

We are looking for a rector who will help us to sustain our traditions while at the same time helping us to grow and adapt to meet the challenges and opportunities of these fast-changing times. For more information, please see our parish profile at www.ChristChurchCalvert.org.
